Portfolio Shift Input Fixes and CSV Import Improvements

March 19, 2026

FixPortfolio Shift

We've fixed decimal input, ticker symbols with periods, and made CSV field mapping more flexible.

What was happening

  • Entering dollar amounts in Portfolio Shift could behave unpredictably while you were typing (especially values with cents), making it hard to input numbers like 1.25 cleanly.
  • Some ticker symbols that include a period (for example, BRK.A or BRK.B) could be misread during trade analysis.
  • If you changed lock settings while viewing trade analysis, the analysis view could end up in a broken state.
  • In Edit Current Portfolio, portfolios with many positions could extend past the bottom of the screen, making Save and Apply hard to reach.
  • CSV imports were stricter than they needed to be. Certain common file formats required extra cleanup or couldn’t be mapped without adding columns.

What we fixed

  • Decimal entry in currency fields works as expected while you type, so you can enter cents without the input “fighting” you.
  • Tickers with periods (e.g., BRK.A / BRK.B) are recognized correctly in Portfolio Shift trade analysis.
  • Lock/unlock actions no longer break the trade analysis view; the screen returns to a usable state.
  • The Edit Current Portfolio window scrolls for large portfolios, so you can always reach Save and Apply.
  • CSV field mapping is more flexible:
    • You can map Book Value (Per Share) (and Portfolio Shift calculates total book value from shares).
    • Book Value (Total) and Book Value (Per Share) are treated as either/or for mapping.
    • Market Value is no longer required if your file includes Price and Quantity.
  • Current portfolio cards show Adjusted Cost Base per share when available, so you can sanity-check cost basis at a glance.
